Latvian Rural forum is organizing international conference on Local Identity Product
Latvian Rural forum is organizing an international conference "Local Identity Product (LIP) – sustainable support systems for communities in Europe", which will bring its participants in a wintery journey from our capital city Riga through Mežotne to Aizkraukle district from 15th till 18th February 2012.
Conference invites its’ participants for a common conversation about local food, which has been an actual discussion topic in Latvia during the last year, but hasn’t been seriously analyzed until now – what is local food and LIP support systems?
The main objective of the conference is to show that Local Identity Product (LIP) should play a significant role in economic development of local territories. Conference will aim to analyze an existing schemes and mechanisms on how LIP recognition and realization systems are functioning in different EU states.
Deadline of the registration is 22th of January 2012.
